Distributed Energy Resource Innovation Initiative
In 2022-2024, ECIC will be partnering with Great River Energy to explore innovation in distributed energy resource deployment with support from the University of Minnesota Institute on the Environment.

In 2022, ECIC is partnering with Hoosier Energy to study how integrated planning across generation, transmission, and distribution can integrate distributed energy resources.
Equitable Solar Deployment with Electric Cooperatives
In 2020-2021, the University of Minnesota partnered with East River Electric Power Cooperative and five of East River’s distribution members under the Department of Energy’s Solar Energy Innovation Network.
The Demand-Side Management Innovation Initiative
In 2020-2021, the University of Minnesota partnered with Great River Energy, the Clean Energy Resource Teams, and the Great Plains Institute to support innovation in demand-side management programs with GRE and its 28 distribution members.
Building Capacity through Multi-Level Governance
In 2018-2019, UC-Davis partnered with Central Electric Power Cooperative and its twenty distribution members to study the multi-level governance of Central and its members.
